When the longest night of the year is here
Our friends and family gather near
To light a candle against the night
And warm our spirits in the wonder of light.
My first winter solstice card, written when I couldn’t find anything to celebrate the return of the light. This card has had a couple of incarnations, the first being one on which I hand colored all of the candle flames. Read the story of this card here.
